Overall I am happy with my cell animation and its outcome, hopefully it will get a few laughs from the audience. I believe that this project was certainly challenging for me because I found it to be very hard work, you need to have a very logical approach to animation and i think i have tackled the problems that i came across very well. I found this project to be an eye opener for myself and I believe that I am not cut out for animation but now i i really appreciate how much work animators do to produce a piece of work.
In comparison to my previous animation this is one is executed a lot better.

Final Animation
This my final animation and I am quite happy with the outcome of it. For some reason the sound isn't working, i'm not sure why but I will fix this if I can.
Here's a link for my edited music that I used for my animation, if you play them both simultaneously you can see that it works very well. I will try and fix the sound problem asap!

This is the music that i have edited and will be using in my animation. The dramatic cut off during this clip is when the screen will go blank and then you will see the drips coming from the carnivorous ice creams
if that doesnt work. here's a link to my soundcloud track where a copy of it should be

Music Timing
this is the original track length, obviously the duration of this song is far too long for my animation. so i have to cut it down and select the part of the track that i want which happens to be the last 19 seconds.
here i have cropped the track to the bit that i want, i have added the track to my animation and i believe that it has worked out to be very well.

Starting Animation/Beginners
I have started to do some animation for beginners exercises from a textbook that i got from the library i found these to be very useful as it gives me a better understanding of creating movement in animations, which is what i mainly struggled with in my first animation - unfortunately the frames wont upload neither will the videos so alternatively here is my flickr page to view the frames for all the sequences/exercises and animations i did from the animation textbook.

Melting/Drips
Changes i want to make - the drips are moving too fast so im going to slow them down, also so shadowing on the the drips would make them more three dimensional
This is the new and improved eating scene to my liking.
I think that the scene is too quick, its missing out shadowing on the ice creams and there isnt enough movement to it when falling down so im going to rotate the ice cream as it is falling through the sky and hits the ground.
This is the new and improved falling scene with my changes.
I have missed out the background and i think im going to change the writing to a more suitable font rather than my rubbish handwritting
This is the new and improved oh no scene, with the new font and background included.
Eyes Moving
Here I have made the moons eyes follow the cool whip around in space to give the moon a sense of movement and character.
Font Choices/Final Decision
This is the font I have chosen to use in my animation rather than my handwritten text, this font has a japanese edge to it which relates to the japanese kawaii theme I have gone for. this font is called groove shark.
Background (Space)
Sketch - This is a sketch of how I want my space background to look.
Final - This what my final space background will look like.

Background (Normal)
Sketches of potential backgrounds to be used in my animation
Colour choices - these are the colour choices I have given myself to use as my background and i have chosen option no.1 as I believe it is the most suitable background to contrast against my ice cream characters.

New Storyline
First off all the ice creams are jumping in their traditional tribal manner. They continue to jump for a while until there is a moment where the cool whip wants to show off how high he can jump. Doing so, he jumps so high he ends up in space - when in space the moons eyes follow him as he glides across and goes back down. He thinks this will impress everyone where as the others have the opposite reaction and think that he is stupid and that it was out of order/unnecessary. As he is coming back down to the ground he loses control and starts to spin off in a crash landing, he happens to fall on his head and then begins to melt away. A close up of the small ice cream cone character has a shocked reaction saying "oh no!" whilst there is ice cream dripping from his mouth - this can be interpreted as a human drooling due to shock. The screen then goes blank at the climax of the song, the music cuts off and there is a complete blackout/silence for two seconds. Suddenly in a flash you see all the ice creams gathered together with the choc chip cool whip ice cream all around there mouths and dripping ever so slowly, this gives the image that they were not fond of him and are carnivorous.
this storyline follows in the same pattern as the original but to add an different twist to the end to make it more dramatic and to hopefully get the audience a bit shocked/humour them.
New Storyboard
1. All jumping sporadically
2. Sychronised wave jump
3. Cool whip big jump
4. WTF reaction
5. Cool whip in space
6. Cool whip falling down from space
7. Oh no reaction
8. Blackout due to cool whip falling
9. Everyone eating coolwhip
Final Characters
I have put all the characters together and they look really good in my mind. This is the style I wanted to achieve for my animation and I think I have done it successfully, hopefully you will think so too.
Developed Characters
Here I have developed my characters and have made them in photoshop. I am really happy with the outcome. Next I will align them altogether to see how they will look next to one another however I don't doubt that will not look good together.
Kawaii Ice Cream Sketches
These are my first Kawaii ice cream sketches, already I think that they are better than my original characters. From looking at my research I have incorporated certain features into the new characters successfully. I will develop my favourite sketches in photoshop and use them in my animation.
Kawaii Ice Cream (Research)
To get my the ball rolling for my designs I have specifically searched for kawaii ice cream, I will use these existing designs as inspiration to help me design my own characters or take the existing ones and add a twist to them.
